Celebrity Street Style: #1 Emma Stone

Hello beautiful people!

At the beginning of this year I told you guys that I was going to add another category in my blog; Fashion and starting today, I am doing just that! I planned that my fashion category would be based on “look books” on celebrities. I plan on calling it “Fashion Friday” and I am going to upload posts such as these every Friday as I think Fridays & Saturdays are the best days for us to unwind, relax and go through magazines or blogs on fashion & beauty. So I came up with my own mini look book fashion corner for you guys to enjoy while sipping on a cuppa tea or munching on pizzas! 😉

This is a brand new idea and this post is like a trial run for you guys to see what to expect on every Fashion Friday. If you do like this idea, I will continue doing posts such as these. Don’t forget to let me know your thoughts and opinions on my idea of Fashion Friday! 🙂

Now before we jump in and talk about fashion and celebrities, I want to tell you guys why I went with street style instead of red carpet looks. My reason for choosing street style is because that way we can relate to the clothing style even more and pick out our own choices and styles. Because we can hardly benefit from the red carpet looks, isn’t that correct?

Street style of celebrities also gives you a wonderful insight of what is currently trending in the industry which you can wear on a regular basis. My idea of doing a street style was mainly so that you all can get inspiration for everyday OOTD looks. When you see celebrities in their normal street style attire, you get inspired to venture out more into fashion and experiment with your looks.

Now let’s look at the street style by one of my favourite actress, Emma Stone:

A little bit about the actress:

Emma Stone is a 27 year old American actress who has appeared in several successful movies such as Gangster Squad, Crazy, Stupid Love, The Amazing Spiderman, Birdman and many more. Stone is one of the world’s highest-paid actresses and frequently appears on various listings of the most attractive celebrities. She has been nominated for an Academy Award, two British Academy Film Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, and has won two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In addition to her acting career, Stone supports various charities and causes, such as creating awareness on breast cancer.

The 5 outfits I chose for this Fashion Friday is perfect for the spring-summer season.

Let’s face it, people! Dungarees are back and they are back with a bang! Almost anything can be pared with dungarees; crop tops, shirts, tank tops… You name it! Available in fabulous colours and styles, these remain timeless! I love how she pairs these dungarees with caramel coloured bag and hair. Perfect for the spring and summer season!

Over sized coats, tees, plaid skirts paired with ankle boots and bucket bag! How stylish is this dress?? It looks so comfortable but so stylish at the same time! At first I thought she was wearing a dress underneath but I looked closer and saw that it was actually a top. These items of clothing are surely available in your closets! Don’t forget the shades! 😉

I am so obsessed with this look by Emma Stone! This is one of my favourites. Stripped tees are so fun and quirky. I love how she paired it with a milky coffee coloured shorts. I personally am tired of seeing ripped, shredded, denim shorts. These look so much more comfortable and stylish.

Just like the ones above, these shorts scream summer, people! I love how it adds a pop of colour and fun to the outfit! Baggy airy tops and summer makes me feel like a feather! The way she carried that bag though. I would carry by big sling bags on one side but after seeing this, I am gonna do that!

Lastly, my two facvourite colours; red and black paired together for a semi-formal look. I love how this outfit can be worn both formally and for fun! Let’s take a moment and fawn over the shoes people. I am fawning. Are you? I think that by adding the caramel coloured bag, she made this look even more perfect!

December Favourites!

Hello Everybody!

How is the new year going so far? Well I hope! 🙂

My new year so far has been marvelous! If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen the pictures of me hanging out and enjoying the new year cold! Sadly, the winter season is almost over here and it is quite sad as it is just January! Which is why I took the opportunity to go out more and enjoy the cold chills before the winter ends.

However, I have an exam in a few days!! That is actually the reason why I had not posted my Monthly Favourites post earlier. Usually I have it up in my blog by the 4th of every month but I was a little busy these past few days.

December had been the best month for me in 2015 because so much happened! If you read my latest post, “New Year Goals and Resolution”, you probably know what I am talking about. My sister left for the US and I have been lonely ever since! However, I am so happy for her! My best friend’s birthday was in December and I had so much fun last month! Winter is my favourite season and that is usually when I like to hang out more and wear amazing winter clothes!

I know you all came to read about my December Favourites so I will stop my ramblings and get right to it! 🙂

 

I will start with make-up items first so, the 2 lipsticks I absolutely loved using in December are Lady Bug from M.A.C. and Saucy Mauve from L’Oreal Paris. The consistency of of these lipsticks are just fantastic! They are so rich and creamy. I used Saucy Mauve pretty much everyday as it imparted such a lovely shade of pinky mauve which looked very natural and it hydrated my lips so much! I don’t really possess many red lipsticks but I really wanted a new one this year so I got the Lady Bug from MAC and wore it during the whole Christmas and New Year time period. Oh my goodness, it was heavenly! It was so creamy on the lips and smelled like cookies and cream! I loved using it so very much!

There are 2 nail polishes that I became obsessed with and they are Bling Thing from Maybelline Color Show Gold Digger Collection and Fresh Maker from Jenna Hipp. The Gold Digger Collection was newly launched in India last month and being the Maybelline lover that I am, I had to pick it up! It had a very festive vibe and I wore it during Christmas and New Year. Usually I steered clear from minty colours but when I applied the Fresh Maker I just fell in love with it! It is such a beautiful bright minty green colour! I would highly recommend it to everyone!

Lets’s move on to hair products!

They killed me with their cuteness!

I wore them every single day! These clips are just so adorable and perfect for the festive season! I can’t get enough of them!

I used the Garnier Oil-In-Cream twice and I think it’s pretty good! If you are running late and your hair looks horrible and in desperate need of oiling or moisture, I think this might help. (It is not a styling cream. You have to wash it off with shampoo) I am not exactly a big fan of this product but it helped me in time of need so… yeah…

I’d like to mention a book. It’s called Live Organic and it is by Lynn Huggins-Cooper. I learnt so much from this! It has topics such as, Mindful Eating, Vegetable Vitality, Dreadful Deodorants, Herbal Heaven, Organic Dairy Products and several others! It is so informative and eye opening. I’d really ask you guys to grab a copy of it! You wont regret it!

And do you see that little notebook with owls and other birds on a colourful tree? Yeah, I am a sucker for everything cute! I had to mention that absolutely pretty notebook! I love it so sooo much!!

And now (FINALLY!!) let’s talk about chocoloates!

Christmas and New Year is not special unless you have chocolates! Usually if I have chocolates, I will have a few squares or a few bites but the moment I bit into Cadbury Bubbly, I knew I was not going to be satisfied with just few bites. This is my 3rd pack, I believe! And the Biscotti has always been a favourite but it tasted even more delicious that time of year!

Life Update #2 (Bits and Pieces about my life!)

Hi everyone!!

Earlier today, my best friend and I were chatting over the phone about our childhood memories and school days. It has been years since we met as I had transferred to another state and began attending a different school during my middle school years. We still talked everyday and we still do now. With both of us in college now, (In different states 😛 ) we talk constantly over skype and messages like we are never apart.
So we were just talking about random stuff and then suddenly we decided to make plans for our college graduation (that being 3 years away! Sheeeesh! We elevate quickly! 😛 ) and we ended up talking for hours about what we wanted to do for our graduation. Suddenly we started making plans for a trip! It’s lovely isn’t it? How crazy we can be with our best friend?? Random and spontaneous! We probably discussed about everything! Places we wanted to go…When to go….How much to spend so that we can start making a separate saving for our trip. Even if it is 3 years apart, we made plans like we were going out the very next day. I am sure many of you out there can relate to this. Having a best friend really is amazing, isn’t it?

As I am writing this post, I am currently pushing a grocery cart for my mum and she is interrupting me ever so often with questions and opinions on the stuff she is picking up! Motherssss! 🙂

About the new blog which I was telling you about, I decided I wont be creating a new one because I already had this one. I will be changing Diva Everyday’s platform and probably its name as well but instead of a new blog, I am going to work on this one and try to make it better for all of you! 🙂

Now here it is…..The confession! I dont know why I am typing it in such a serious way! It is not bone-chilling or anything it is just a simple change that’s all! 🙂
All of you have known me as Amrita over here and that is my name…Uh… Nick name…Pet name… but since I will be taking this blog to another level now, I was advised by my sister to remove my nick name and run this platform with my…Original (I guess that is the word) name. Hehehehe! I hope all of you will not leave upon hearing this!! My name is Sukanya! My new posts will be under this name from now on! I didn’t use it because I was not very fond of this name! (surprise surprise! Who is 😛 ) Soooo yeah that is my big ‘ol confession! 😛

I have been writing this post for hours now! I came home some hours ago and now I am drinking tea! (OH so lady like! 😛 ) No worries there are no crumpets here! 🙂

I did a bit of shopping today! Nothing much! Just a clothing haul! On Aztec printed ry me know if you want me to do a post on it! 🙂

Festive Haul!! :)

Durga Puja is an annual Hindu festival in South Asia that celebrates worship of the goddess Durga. It marks the victory of Durga over the evil buffalo demon Mahishasura. This glorious festival is going to be held from 19^th October till 23^rd October this year. For me (As well as for most South Asians) this is the most anticipated time of the year. I love dressing up in our traditional clothes for this festival and visit every temple and eat at the delicious food joints. If you are in India right now, you are going to witness this glorious festival at its peak. You are in for a treat!

Every year I accumulate a separate saving for my Durga Puja haul and today I am going to show you some of my favourite haul items! This festival is all about golds, reds and silvers for me so without further delay, let’s dig in!

P.S. There are no make-up items in this haul, guys!

First up, Palazzos!

I have loved wearing palazzos this summer! They are loose, comfortable and airy! They have saved me from the heat and I love their different patterns and colours. So I picked out 2 of them for the festival. I bought them from the Lifestyle store and I can’t wait to wear them!

They are cotton! (Yay! They will keep me cool!) They are maroon in colour. One of them is plain with designs at the bottom and flared a bit more than the other printed one. Sorry! It looks horrible in the picture! No worries, I am doing a look-book for my new blog where I will be wearing this and you will get to see my whole festive look.

Shoes!

Heels and flats! They have to be as glamourous as possible because your surround is going to be so bright and majestic! So I bought the black show with gold hand work online while the pencil heel is from Touristor and the silver mini wedge is from Inc. 5.

Bags!

I love these bags! I love investing in these quirky and vibrant ones with frisky prints made on cloth. Now if you are a college student on a budget, I really recommend these bags. As you already know I don’t like investing in high end bags because no matter how good the quality is, the skin always seem to peel off. (Learnt that the hard way, folks!) I love buying these because you don’t have to worry about your wallet when shopping for these.

Accessories

Now if you ever visit India, I can guarantee you will fall in love with the various accessory shops we have. What you will love even more are the prices and the styles. Here are a few examples. I will be doing a detailed post on this subject in my new blog so stay tuned!

Life Update 1

Hi Everybody!

I guess I am not as strong as I had hoped I would be in keeping this secret! I told you guys in my “ANNOUNCEMENT” post that I was busy with a big project and I was determined to keep it hidden until it was up and running but it seems that I cannot as I am bursting to tell you all about it! My sister and I are opening up a whole new blog which we are going to call “The Good Life”. It will be a professional venture and I hope to see you all over there! Diva Everyday for me has been more of a hobby but I am ready for this new adventure where we will bring you incredible stuff. Make-Up, Beauty, Lifestyle, Look-Book, Personal Finance and so much more!

So I have been really busy preparing my posts, taking pictures, gathering content as we want to make this new journey wonderful and unique!

Since I am a graphic designer and animation student I will be designing the blog and will manage the creative area. I am going to be making business cards, brochures, greeting cards and many other things for The Good Life. As you guys already know that I am a sucker for beauty and make-up, naturally I will be in-charge of those respective sections as well. Besides that, I am also studying business organisation and accountancy so I will be helping out my sister in the finance department as well.

I cannot shut down Diva Everyday and I don’t think I ever will. I will be posting articles here as well but my main focus will be on The Good Life. I recently made business cards for Diva Everyday just for fun and I think they turned out pretty well!

I will be doing these Life Update posts a lot over here just to show you guys the progress we are making and I hope you guys will enjoy watching our preparation and hopefully will support our new blog!
